Employer Webinar on Unemployment Insurance System
PIERRE, S.D. – The Department of Labor and Regulation (DLR) and South Dakota Retailers Association (SDRA) are providing a free webinar Tuesday, March 20, at 10 a.m. (CDT).
“South Dakota Unemployment Insurance” will cover the basics of the unemployment system and provide detailed information on the annual tax table determination, including the $4 million tax break for employers.
“The department has worked hard to ensure an appropriate and adequate trust fund balance,” said state Labor and Regulation Secretary Marcia Hultman. “I think businesses will appreciate learning the mechanics of how this works.”
As the presenter, Secretary Hultman will also share projection and trust fund solvency data, along with her vision for enhanced re-employment services to put claimants back to work faster.
“This is a good opportunity for businesses to get basic information on how the unemployment system works, how rates are set, and potential benefits to employees from this system,” said SDRA President Gary Cammack.
