    Agtegra Cooperative is seeking a SVP, Human Resources and Organizational Development in Aberdeen, SD. 

    Position Summary

    The Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development is responsible to partner with our business leaders to impact company and employee performance, development, and career pathing.  This will be accomplished by the development and integration of human resource policies and programs to achieve strategic business goals and operational objectives. 

    It will also be imperative to effectively manage the employees who work directly in the Human Resources Department.  Those employees should display the same commitment to facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of employees (particularly, but not limited to) executives and emerging leaders and to be a business partner with and support the operating units regarding their talent needs and development.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Works as a business partner with all Agtegra units to create financial and people results
    • Manages organizational development (OD) strategies and processes and assesses organizational development needs of operating, business, and functional units.
    • Leads the design, development and implementation of programs, policies and strategies to meet OD needs and program goals, including (but not limited to):
      • Development plans for high-potential employees
      • Succession plans for key positions, ensuring that a “bench” is continually being trained to take additional responsibility within Agtegra
      • Engagement analysis and implementation, when necessary
      • Others, as necessary
    • Leads relationship with colleges and Universities and all recruiting activities inside of those, including campus presence and internship programs.
    • Assists others in measuring the achievement of established goals within their units
    • Assists with the provision of expert facilitation and coaching to managers and supervisors regarding OD methods and tools
    • Leads short- and long-term planning for OD programs
    • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to maintain a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale.
    • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource activities.  Acts as a primary contact with legal counsel and outside government agencies.
    • Protects interests of the company and its employees in accordance with company human resource policies and governmental laws and regulations.
    • Establishes wage and salary structure and pay policies.  Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan.
    • Oversees recruitment and placement practices and procedures.  Assists in interviewing executive-level candidates.
    • Establishes internal management training programs that address company-wide needs.
    • Prepares budgetary recommendations that meet department goals and provide for effective management of resources.  
    • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of human resource internal and outsourced staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities of internal human resource staff in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving problems

    Education and Experience Required

    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent in human resources or organizational development.  Related experience considered in lieu of education.
    • A minimum of ten years of experience gained through increasingly responsible management positions within Human Resources.  Experience working with organizational development for operations in a large organizational and/or functional business unit. 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (M.S. Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Internet.  Working knowledge of HR systems. 
    • Excellent change management skills required.  Ability to make formal presentations on a variety of work-related topics on a regular basis required.  Ability to travel to Agtegra locations throughout SD and ND and other trips as needed.  Knowledge of state-of-the-art organizational development tools.
